Pandemic and Covid-19 have affected every aspect of our lives. They have altered the fact that in many places there is limited entry, we have to wear masks and keep a social distance, and there are fewer encounters with other people. Covid has also impacted the professional aspect. Home office and remote working are just some of the elements that employees and workers have had to adjust to. It has also affected new employees and their onboarding process. What was onboarding during Covid-19 like?
Onboarding during Covid-19- Pros and cons
During the pandemic, onboarding interviews still had to be conducted online. For many, being able to interview online was much less stressful, the time spent on recruiting was reduced, plus the employee was able to show off their portfolio via screen sharing. Unfortunately, this also had its downside, as the employee could not feel the proper atmosphere of the office.
After the recruitment process itself, most things look the same. You have to go to the office to pick up essentials like a laptop, etc., which gives you the opportunity to see your co-workers in person and see what the company looks like from the inside.
